“One of a Kind” On June 26th Kevin Dumas took his final race to the heavens. Kevin was a giant that walked amongst us; not in a figurative sense but in the way he connected with the world and people in his life. For anyone who knew Kevin, he was the kindest, most generous man whose main focus in life was to embrace life itself. He lived fast, yet easy going and enjoyed life to the fullest each and every day. He was loved by everyone whom he graced with his presence. He wore his heart on his sleeve, lived life in the moment and enriched the lives of the people that knew him. His walk of life, is his legacy to his family and friends; he was a generous soul that made you feel special in a way that is difficult to describe with words but exceptional in a way that you felt a connection with him when you were in his presence. It is hard to imagine the scope of his experiences. He embraced what life offered and pursued his interests with a passion that at times was inspiring and sometimes bewildering, he had many character traits that uniquely defined him. He was charismatic, authentic, engaging, and at times reckless in ways that cannot be believed unless you were there in the moment with him. Kevin was always up for an adventure and it always led to an incredible story. As these stories were shared throughout his life, one would think there is no possible way any of it was true. However, his friends were always there to corroborate, the truths were indeed no exaggeration. Women and men were drawn to his infectious personality. Everyone wanted to be around him. Life was simply more fun with Kevin around. He turned a lot of heads and broke a few hearts along the way. Kevin’s greatest legacy is the gift of his two children, Rachel and Parker, whom his world revolved around for the last 24 years. You made his world from the day you were born. You made him whole. Kevin was loved by many and will forever be remembered and sorely missed. Rest in peace Kevin, you enriched the lives of all of us that knew you. Kevin was predeceased by his father Dennis Dumas. He leaves behind many more broken hearts, but none more than his children Rachel and Parker Dumas, mother Judy Bourne, Step-father Carl Bourne and siblings Jarett (Ray-Anne) Dumas, Deidre (Kevin) Knudson, Sara Dumas and Jennifer (Kris) Korney, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, an uncle and many friends.
