Donald “Don” Aaron Moss of Fairfax, VA (and former long-time resident of Silver Spring, MD) passed away on the morning of October 29, 2022, at the Birmingham Green Nursing Facility in Manassas, VA, from later stage dementia complications.
Donald was born in LaGrange, GA to Vivian Griffin and John Lee Moss on April 15, 1939. In 1957, he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, GA, and moved to Washington, DC soon after. Donald’s long career path included property management, sales, and bus driver for Montgomery County, MD Public Schools. For 15 years until 2020, he worked for the DC Public Schools as a school bus attendant for disabled children.
Donald was very social. He enjoyed making friends and attending outings. He had a passion for and was quite skilled at drawing. He loved classic cars and rode motorcycles. Looking stylish with his clothing and jewelry was important to him. He collected baseball cards, vintage toys, model cars, and antiques. He often volunteered for the Montgomery County Election Board. He enjoyed watching professional football, basketball, and baseball games. Donald’s favorite sports team was the Washington Commanders.
Donald is preceded in death by his Grandmother Emma Griffin; Parents Vivian and John Lee Moss; and Brother John Robert Moss.
Donald is survived by Children Karen Moss, Michelle Moss, and Aaron Moss; Grandchildren Chloe Tayman, Parrish Moss, and Aaron Hubert Moss, Jr. (AJ); and Great-grandchild Aria Helen Moss.
