Chester “Chet” Francis Maruszewski, 85 of Oakton passed away at INOVA Fair Oaks on Thursday, August 6, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jeanie; two daughters, Kimberley Gholson (son-in-law, Dean) and Stefanie Maruszewski; and three grandchildren, Bradley, Kevin, and Lindsey Gholson. Chet was born and raised in the Lawrenceville neighbor of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the proud son of Polish immigrants. He served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was the Treasurer of Sigma Chi Fraternity. His professional career consisted of 38 years as an accountant with the Federal Government. He enjoyed many activities throughout his life including skiing, playing golf and poker, and coin collecting. He was a political enthusiast and volunteered at his local polling place many times. He spent many happy times at the family’s vacation cabin. He was a dedicated Steelers fan and even went skydiving a time or two. We loved you every day, now we will miss you every day. A memorial mass will be held at St Mark Catholic Church, Vienna, Virginia, on August 14, at 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the American Lung Association or American Diabetes Association.
