Carol Sue Gaylor

Carol is preceded in death by her husband Troy, sister Jean and husband Dudley Fischer, and son-in-law Tom McMillan.

She is survived by her daughter Linda McMillan, son Craig Gaylor (Carol Lockwood Gaylor) daughter Debbie Murphy (Andy), grandchildren Jason Mustian (Stefanie), Travis Mustian, Erin Mustian (Moe Anderson), Brendon Murphy (fiancé Ally DeRizzo) and Mackenzie Murphy, great grandchildren Kayne Mustian, Finn, Kit, Skye and Liv Mustian and Imani Anderson.

Carol was born in Washington, DC. She graduated from Western High School and studied at American University. She married Troy Cleo Gaylor in 1951 at Metropolitan Methodist Church. In addition to being a loving wife and Mom she was also a teachers aid/bus driver at Fairfax Christian School, lead secretary at Virginia Electric and Power Company, Fairfax Elementary School and Vienna Elementary School. She finished her carrier at Chantilly High School where she was head secretary through 5 consecutive principals. She was involved at Fairfax United Methodist Church, volunteering in the office and participating in beloved Sunrisers Sunday School class and prepared meals for FACETS. She also volunteered with PAWS where she and her dog, Callie, visited the sick at several local hospitals. Carol was an excellent seamstress, loved crafts and made beautiful quilts for her family and others. She was an avid gardner. She will be sorely missed by her family, neighbors and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on May 11, 2023 at Demaine Funeral Home at 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22033. Rev. David Bonney of Fairfax United Methodist Church is officiating. Following the funeral service will be a gravesite service from 11:45 to noon at the Fairfax City Cemetery, 10567 Main Street, Fairfax VA 22030. Reception at Demaine following the burial.
