Brian took my friend and I out on his boat for a day of trolling on Chesapeake Bay, which was basically his backyard. We caught a real nice rockfish, and Brian was very excited because it was the first rockfish caught on his cherished Grady White...We had 'christened' his boat - I was glad to share that day with him, he was so happy, he was in his element.... I knew Brian from working at the Magic Pan restaurant back in the 70's. So many memories of him. Very sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family. RIP Brian.

There are no right words at a time like this when someone you loved for so much of your life is suddenly gone.  My deepest sympathies to the Hennesy family at this difficult time.  I hope you know how much Brian's NVRPA family loved and respected Brian.  My days working with Brian at Pohick Bay were some of the happiest of my career.  We never ran out of stuff to talk about or stories to tell and we were frequently laughing about something.  That is how I want to remember Brian, hearing him telling a good story and laughing.

From the time at the Park Authority Christmas gift drawing (early days) that Brian traded his Coca cola Santa for my Dr. Pepper tie and made me think he really wanted the tie, I've known that Brian was a kind person.  His incredible and quick sense of humor always made the most tedious situation bearable if not fun.  Brian set high standards for his work, trained others in those standards, and he won a lot of friends for the Park Authority.  Such a great guy who is gone way too soon.

I knew Brian (and Hugh) from high school track and cross country, circa 1974 and can conjure an image of us sitting around the front entrance waiting for a ride home yakking about nothing in particular. What a sad way to catch up. Judging from the entries on the Guest Book I have missed getting to know Brian better. Condolences from the Brewer family.

Shawn and family, I am so sorry to hear of Brian's passing.

Brian was a special person with so many unique qualities, an outdoorsman from childhood who  opened the wonders of the natural world to his "suburban" cousins. I have always admired the joy of the simple, pure pleasures that he found all around him, and his steadfast love of his family. No words can express the gratitude I feel for his 'simple gifts' nor the shock and sorrow of his sudden passing. Thank you, Cousin...we will love you and miss you always.

I have known Brian since the 10th grade. He was my friend, a brother, one of the most unique individuals in so many ways, that I have ever met. His passion for the outdoors, fishing and the simple life is what he lived for. For many years I was one of the lucky ones to have shared his passion for fishing and sunsets. The words I will always remember hearing from him when we fished together was "life is good, but don't mess up my lines, clean the boat and hand me another beer!" It is without saying Brian inspired and touched many people throughout life in his own special thoughtful ways.

I started working with Brian, Earl Hodnett and Smokey Jacobs at Bull Run Park in 1986. We were a great team for a few years and Brian was both a supervisor and friend. I have so many memories of Brian and those happy times. My sincere condolences to the Hennesy family.

I am profoundly saddened to hear of Brian's passing.  He was always one of my favorite park managers to work for.  Regardless of what the day threw at us he was always rational, calm and fair.  Qualities I have tried to mimic in my career.  He was one that truly lead by example and will be missed by many.  My sincere condolences.

I met Brian shortly after I went to work as a seasonal at Pohick Bay and to this day he is the only person that ever got out of his truck and clapped for me when I picked up a piece of trash!  I will always remember his ready smile and sense of humor.  It was always a pleasure working for him and I remember him fondly.

Sad to hear of Brian's passing. He was the manager at Occoquan Regional Park and welcomed me from Ohio when I came to Virginia to assume that position as he was retiring. A very gentle soul. RIP.
