Laura Ann McCoy

Laura loved Fairdale and the community. Laura was a cheerleader and graduated from Fairdale high school. She returned to coach at Fairdale youth league from 2007-2011. She coached at Fairdale high school as a head cheerleading coach from 2013-2020. While she coached at Fairdale she led her teams to two regional wins, three advances to state, and three LIT cheer wins. She impacted the lives of many young women and men as a coach and mentor.

Laura is preceded in death by her husband of 9 years, Eric McCoy; and sister-in-law, Donna Hodapp.

She is survived by her parents, Leo Hodapp Sr. and Phyllis Hodapp; daughter, Kelsey McCoy (Justus Montgomery); son, Sean McCoy; sister, Jennifer Overstreet (Jason); brother, Leo Hodapp Jr. (Arlet); nieces, Jasmine Hodapp, Rileigh Overstreet; and nephew, Ashton Overstreet.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 2-8pm at Fairdale McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Road, Fairdale, KY. Service will be Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 1pm with a visitation starting at 11am until time of service. There will be a cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the family during this time.
