Ruby Alice Wentz

Born in Dayton, OH on November 28, 1939 to her father Walter S. Baker, and mother Adrien A. Baker nee Pratt, Ruby is survived by her beloved husband of sixty years, James D. Wentz; and sons, Rev. Dr. Mark A. Wentz, and his wife Dr. Alma Garlo, Berkey, OH; DMin Candidate Robert L. Wentz CW4, USA (Ret.) and his wife Reina Licida Seren Galo - Wentz, Athens, AL; James M. Wentz, Portsmouth, OH; Gregory S. Wentz,. Kettering, OH; Todd C. Wentz and his partner Christopher Staas, West Carrolton, OH; and daughter, Laura L. Parsons, Springfield, OH. Ruby is also survived by her nieces and nephews, loving in-law, Deborah Wentz nee Gould (widowed by son Jeffery), and many long-time friends including, Ginger Hackworth, who she loved dearly. Included are, Fourteen grandchildren, Maggie, Libby, Patrick, Amanda, Jared, Ian, Victoria, Brad, Seneca, Rose, Tony, Chris, Emily, and Aaron, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great, great-grandchildren.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Richard, Clifford, Walter, Ethel, and Edith, all who she rejoins in heaven along with her late son Jeffery K. Wentz.

Growing up near Vandalia, OH, Ruby enjoyed spending time with Maria Aull, and the Miami Valley, National Audubon Society’s first nature center where she developed her love of gardening and birds. Later in life, she and her husband owned and operated the Fairborn Rec Bowling Lanes and Hilltop Bowling Inc and recently retired in Springfield, OH.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Burcham Tobias Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St. Fairborn, Ohio. Funeral Service will be held at 1pm with Bishop Bill McFarland officiating. Graveside service will follow for the family and those who wish to attend, at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 North Dixie Drive, Dayton, OH, on the southern side of the Memorial Park.
