Richard Thomas Morse

MORSE, RICHARD THOMAS, age 89 of Fairborn, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Soin Medical Center. He was born on October 27, 1932, in Rochester, New York. He is preceded in death by his mother Audrey, his father Arthur, his wife Virginia, his daughter Kathleen, Granddaughter Maria and Grandson Joe. He is survived by his children, Richard Jr., Daniel and Victoria, Grandchildren Christopher, Melissa, Anthony and Great Grandchildren Emma, Dominic, Makai, Anthony, Addelyn and Dakota. Richard served in the New York State National Guard at a young age. He enlisted in the United States Navy for over 3 years and served on the USS Coral Sea. He received the Navy Occupation Service Medal. After the Navy, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for over 20 years. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and retired in 1986. While in the Air Force, he was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star and an Air Force Commendation Medal. Also during this time, he attended George Washington University and other Schools from which he would earn many degrees and a Doctorate in Business. There will be no services at this time. Lt. Col. Morse will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Anyone interested in the date of burial can contact any family member for information.
