Emma L. Wilmoth

WILMOTH, EMMA (MADDOX), age 81 of Englewood, passed away on Monday May 29, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born on January 28, 1942 in Oak Dale, Tennessee to Andrew and Delcie (Easterly) Ruppe. She was married to James Maddox for 49 years before his passing in 2011. She married Willard Wilmoth in December 2020.

Emma was a waitress for over 34 years at the former Grub Steak Restaurant in Dayton. She made many friends and was frequently requested by people patronizing the restaurant.

Besides her husband, Emma was preceded in death by her parents, her son Andrew Maddox on June 20, 2019 and by her sisters Pauline Ruppe, Rema Wentworth and Patricia Stefanidis. She is survived by her husband Willard, her son James Maddox, Step sons Steve (Brenda) Wilmoth, David Wilmoth and her in-laws John (Deborah) Maddox, Bill Maddox, Debbie Maddox and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was a member of New Life Church in Dayton.

The family will receive friends on Monday June 5, 2023 from 11am to 12noon at New Life Church, 3350 Benchwood Rd., Dayton, Ohio. A Celebration of Emma’s life will be at 12:00 noon.
