William James “Wild Bill” Thornton. Born in Waneta Nebraska on March 17, 1964, he moved to Sloughhouse California at the age of 23. Bill passed peacefully at home with loving family by his side on October 19, 2017 at the age of 53. Bill was an avid fisherman, duck hunter, and a long time rodeo enthusiast. He purchased a ranch in Sloughhouse and fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a cattle ranch that catered to family events including horseback riding, fishing and of course, Bills famous BBQ. He is widely known in the community as an all around outdoorsman. He was a fun loving, kind and giving man whose larger than life stature and boisterous laugh would frequently be seen and heard as he mingled with friends both new and old on the Bar B ranch in SloughHouse. While he loved duck hunting, fishing , roping and riding, no outing was complete without sharing his famous BBQ with loved ones and friends.
