Samantha Jane Hall was born in Sacramento, CA on August 5, 2013 to Michael and Lesley Hall. “Sammy” was a fighter from the moment she arrived. She was born with a rare genetic condition called Dandy-Walker malformation which brought on hydrocephalus and other medical complications causing developmental delays. At the young age of two weeks old Samantha’s shunt became infected and she came down with a severe case of bacterial meningitis. She fought hard for two months in the Pediatric ICU and through it all she came out of it with the happiest and most joyful attitude despite having a few new complications.
Her little life was very busy, she had many doctors and therapists who saw her on a weekly basis and each time they mentioned her strength and commented on how sweet and happy she was. She truly had a love and appreciation for all things. She was so often smiling and happy even in times of pain and frustration - she persevered and loved to see others smile. Sammy had so many battles throughout her life - each time coming out of them stronger and more determined. Each accomplishment was celebrated with such joy because she worked so hard to get to each one. She was absolutely amazing and everyone stood in awe of her.
Samantha passed away the morning of Friday, May 8, 2015 due to complications associated with her conditions. Just shy of two years old, she touched and inspired more lives than most adults do in a typical lifetime. She will forever be a shining light, a beacon of strength and inspiration to all that knew her and her story. Samantha is survived by her parents, Lesley & Michael.
The memorial service for Samantha will take place at 10 AM on Saturday, May 16th at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary located at 8201 Greenback Lane Fair Oaks, CA 95628. A celebration of life reception will follow the service at Rudolf Steiner College, Stegmann Hall located at 9200 Fair Oaks Blvd., Fair Oaks CA 95628.
