Rosetta Murray McCoy

Rosette and her sister, Johnnie Pearl Hammond, were prepared for life by their beloved grandmother, Mahaley Hawkins Riggins. Rosetta joined the church at an early age and baptized at Arcadia Baptist Church, Albany GA.

Rosetta married Ollie Murray and to that union Ronald was born. She later met and married Benjamin McCoy, Sr., a member of the USAF, and to this union five children were born, Audrey, Benjamin Jr., Kenneth, Michael, and Tracy. After assignments in Texas twice, France, and South Carolina they received their final duty station assignment in 1969, to Mather AFB, Sacramento, CA.

While Benjamin was away protecting the Country, Rosetta, like many military spouses at that time, had the sole responsibility of settling the family down in Lincoln Village, with school, and immediately going to work.

Rosetta attended American River College, taking classes to become a Certified Dietician, and throughout the years she took computer classes and various Interior Design classes.

Rosetta's employment history spans from 1951- 1990. She worked in various positions for her uncle, who owned a grocery store, as well as for her father, who owned Cabin in the Pines Motel, in Albany, GA. Her employment in Sacramento, CA consisted of 7 years at the In-Flight Kitchen at Mather AFB, Sacramento, CA and 16 years at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, CA.

Rosetta was a member of New Hearts Baptist Church, Rancho Cordova, CA under the covering of Pastor Willie Anderson.

Rosetta lived her life for her children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren every day of our lives whether we needed her involvement or not; it did not matter about our ages, as she did not care how old we were, we were her's. Rosetta loved gardening, puzzles, lottery scratchers, Bingo, and playing Monopoly.

Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie (Bo) Riggins and Pearle Gertrude Lane, her husband Benjamin H. McCoy, Sr., her son, Benjamin H. McCoy Jr., her son-in-law, Donald Harris, brother's Anthony Riggins, and Bobby Ferrell and her sister Mildred Tookes.

Rosetta leaves to cherish memories her Children: Ronald (Fiancée Stacy), Audrey (Kenneth), Kenneth (significant other, Alexis), Michael (Significant other, Bianca) and Tracy. Beloved grandmother of 10 - Darrell, Brandon, Andrea, LaRena, Bryan, Bryanna (Special Friend Junior), Mykaela, Maylani (Special Friend Brandon), Kennette and Keonna. Great grandmother of 11 - Octavia, Lakayla, Alaysia, Zyah, Laniyah, Isiah, Benjamin, Khai, Khalil, Kaleb, and Lilianna. She also leaves to cherish her sister's Johnnie Pearl Hammond and Kimberly Kennedy Capers, Albany, GA, Kenneth Kennedy, Macon, GA, and Todd Lukietas of Phoenix, AZ, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends, like Louise Combs of Seattle, Washington.
