Robert Sousa

Robert Sousa Born on February 27, 1927 in Folsom, California, passed away peacefully, on May 9, 2014. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Twyla Sousa and daughter Penny. Survived by two daughters, a son, six grandchildren and his beloved dog, Max. He is also survived by the many friends, young and old, who affectionately referred to him as 'Grandpa Sousa.' Robert was a loving father, a superb grandfather and a loyal friend. He was a basketball player at Folsom High School before leaving to serve his Country in World War II. He enjoyed the many years working at McClellan Air Force Base where he continued to serve and honor his country. An outstanding athlete, he enjoyed fishing, kayaking, boating, motorcycle riding and taking in the beautiful outdoors at every opportunity. He lived life to the fullest to the end spending his last day walking two miles, swimming and enjoying a barbeque stating, 'this is the life.'Family & friends are invited to the memorial service at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.
