Raymond Stanley Rhodes

Ray had a long and eventful life he grew up in Arkansas and as a teenager entered the Armed Forces with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Army, Ray met and married Jo Ellen and moved t Roseville, California and went to work for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He retired as a switchman after 37 years.

In 1972 Ray remarried Kathy, his wife of 46 years and moved to Newcastle, California. Kathy preceded him in her earthly journey in 2018. Ray and Kathy loved traveling throughout the country in their R.V. They were great traveling companions see the country and making new friends wherever they went.

Ray was a loving father of Kelly James of Colfax, California, Donna Rhodes of Twin Falls, Idaho, stepfather to Julie Rehman of Arlington, Virginia, Jana Palmer of Applegate, California, and Joe Palmer of Auburn, California. He was preceded in death by his sons Raymond and Larry and daughter Sharon and stepson John Palmer. Ray will be missed by his adoring 14 grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
