Born in Sacramento, CA on 4/23/45, to John George and Mary B. Nilan. Phil passed away on 7/9/17 at Kaiser Hospital, Sacramento. He was a 1963 graduate of McClatchy H.S. As a Vietnam Veteran, he attained the rank of Army SGT. A retired local Farmers Insurance Agent, Phil was also a noted golfer at Cold Springs Country Club in, Placerville, Cal and in So. Cal at his RV resort in Indio. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of thirty-six years, Darlene Nilan. He is survived by his sisters, Cathy Maffei (Bill) and Patricia Albright and his nephews Michael Maffei, Charles Albright, and his niece Gina Maffei Hennessey. Phil is also survived by his four step-daughters, Vicki Mejorado, Karen Carter, Michelle Barrosa, and Marlee Burnette, and eight step-grand children.
A private family funeral will take place at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park and Mortuary in Fair Oaks, CA on July 24th.
