Maryln L. Bolar, daughter of the late L. King and Gladys Bolar, was born on March 20, 1957 in Mobile, Alabama. She was the sixth of ten children born to this union and probably the only one never to have received a whoopin' because she was always telling on her siblings. She was the youngest girl and loved by all. The Bolar family moved from Mobile, Alabama to Sacramento, California in 1966. Maryln attended Highlands High School and after high school, went on to work for the State of California for 26 years. She retired from CalPERS in December, 2016 and looked forward to living a life of leisure.
She was a devout Christian and member of New Love Ministries. She loved her Church family and the great times they shared. Often described by her friends as sweet, sassy, loving, and beautiful, her daughter will always remember her for being a great mother, awesome teacher, and her best friend. Maryln departed this life the same way she entered, at home, surrounded by a lot of love and family. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Harvey Bolar, and three sisters, Gwen and Medeva Bolar and Doris Bolar Williams.
To cherish her memory, Maryln leaves behind her son, James Bolar Sr., her daughter, Shauntae M. Hall (Jeremiah Hall), her sister, Sherald Bolar Nord (Torben Nord), and three brothers, Wendell, Tony and Terry Bolar. Maryln will also be remembered by her six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
