Mary Lucille Virginia Miskell, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home, September 3, 2019. She was born December 28, 1927 in Cass City, Michigan. She was married to George Leroy Miskell in Port Huron, Michigan, who preceded her in death on July 4, 2008. Lucille was also proceeded in death by her Father, Maynard Rubin DeLong and her mother Anna Emaline Neil.
Lucille loved taking care of everyone’s needs. Once retired, she also took care of her grandchildren. No matter what time of the day, when you stopped by, she would make sure that you were not hungry or thirsty. Fondest memories are eating her scrumptious chili, chocolate chip cookies and sloppy Joe's. Friends and family took joy adding to her prized mini spoon collection from all over the world. Even people who knew her briefly, became friends and would visit whenever they were in her area. Lucille was a genuine soul who had a heart of gold. Known best as Mom, Aunt, Grandma, Nana and friend.
During the 1970’s, Lucille and George moved to Sacramento, CA, where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Of which 35 years were in the same house together.
Lucille spent over 30 years working for Holly Stores Incorporated as Store Management. Began in Port Huron, MI and later transferred to Sacramento to relocate with George. Until she retired, she held the position of Assistant Store Manager.
She is survived by her son Gary Barnett and his wife Diane, daughter Patricia Tobin, & daughter (from a different mother), Brenda Smith, grandchildren, Matthew & Michael Barnett, Timothy, Jason & Tricia Sturdevan, Shaun Sprouse & Bianca Sprouse-Dean. Great grandkids Austin, Caleb, Jessica, Jacob and Jensyn. Stepchildren, Bethany Farasin, Kathleen Kier, George Miskell, Jr., Thomas Miskell, Alicia Lucias and many more nieces and nephews.
Friends and Family are invited to visit Lucille at Vernon Memorial Park, 8021 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks. Viewing is Wednesday September 11th from 4pm to 8pm and the Funeral will be Thursday at 10am. Celebration of Life at Lucille’s Home from 12:30pm – 3:30pm.
