September 9, 1920 --- March 20, 2014
Marie is survived by her husband of 74 years, Lawrence and their four children, Richard (Judy), Gary (Linda), Kathleen (Bill) Hodson and Bob (Marcia) along with 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Elsie Bailey and Evelyn Brennan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Lydia Campouris and grandchildren, David and Benjamin Houck.
She was a native Californian born in Fresno. After graduation from East Nicholas high school, she settled in Sacramento with her husband, Lawrence. Soon after they moved to San Leandro where she worked as a, " Rosie the Riveter" during WWII. Following the war they returned to Sacramento, then to Fair Oaks and South Lake Tahoe before returning to Orangevale where they currently reside.
Her pleasures were her family and friends which she had plenty of both. She enjoyed the many travels in their 5th wheel trailer as well as canning and crocheting.
All of her grandchildren and great grandchildren have hats, scarves and slippers made by Grandma Marie. She felt fortunate that most of her family was close by.
