Born November 4, 1929 in Honeyford, North Dakota; passed away February 10, 2017. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she spent her life caring for others through her family life and volunteer work. Margaret earned her degree in Dietetics from the University of North Dakota and worked as a registered dietician until her marriage to Dean Garrett, a career military officer, in 1959. They traveled extensively while raising the family, living in Turkey, the Philippine Islands, and the US. Margaret volunteered her time to help other military families through the Family Service office on Base, earning the honor of volunteer of the year. In the past few years, she enjoyed travel throughout the US, Europe, and the Caribbean with her children and grandchildren, who were the source of her greatest pride and joy. She is survived by her sister Kathy, brother Orvis, children, Michele, Steve, Lisa, and David, her grandchildren Lindsey, Ryan, Peter, Madeline and Ethan, and her great-grandchild, Perrey.
