Lynda Lee Jones, aged 71, was unexpectedly welcomed home with open arms by her recently deceased husband MSgt Kenneth B. Jones. She was surrounded by her loving family as she comfortably entered the gates of The House of the Lord on March 13, 2019.
Lynda grew up and graduated High School in Sacramento, California. Together Lynda and Ken grew a family of daughters: Marcy (Sam); Kerri (Bryan); Keli (CJ); and Michelle (John) which later produced the loves of her life, her grandchildren: Danielle, Matthew, Chris, Morgan, Brandon, Jake, Anthony, Hailey, and Angela.
Lynda supported Ken proudly while he served their country in the United States Air Force. During their extended tours overseas, Lynda joined the Federal Civil Service branches and executively assisted many areas of operations defending our country. Her tour came to an end when McClellan AFB faced closure and she excitedly retired to become a Full Time Cookie Baking Grandma.
Lynda is fondly remembered as the Colorful Queen of the Kitchen. Her sassy distinguished style accompanied every tray of delicious EVERYTHING. Cookies, cakes, truffles, chocolate covered cherries, chocolate dipped Oreo cookies, and personalized Valentine cookies, to name just a few, have crossed the palettes of every physician she saw, every teacher her children and grandchildren encountered and every acquaintance she felt deserved a treat.
Our mom did not miss a sporting event, music presentation or graduation complete with snacks for everyone and an airpot of coffee for her!
Lynda Lee Jones brought class, style and overwhelming love to every genuine act of kindness she shared with all that were blessed to know her.
She is survived and will be missed dearly by many local and distant family and friends.
Our family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Mercy San Juan Hospital.
We will celebrate our mom and lay her to rest with our father on April 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park, Fair Oaks, CA.
In lieu of flowers and or memorial gifts, remembrances may be made in Lynda’s name through the Mercy Foundation to the Angel Fund. Gifts can be made by clicking on the link below. One hundred percent of your gift will benefit local cancer patients in need.
