Lucia (Lucy) Pilar Valenzuela Moschetti, born May 15, 1931, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, peacefully went to be with her Lord on April 6, 2025. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a loving mother who deeply cherished her family.
Lucy and Bob (Robert Moschetti) first met on a dance floor. Bob was smitten and spent the next year searching for her. When he finally found her again, she was on a blind date. He asked her to dance, and she left the blind date behind forever. They married on May 8, 1955, in Sparks, Nevada, then set off for the adventure of a lifetime as they made their home in New York City. A small town girl at heart, Lucy longed for home so they returned where they raised their five children: Steven, Ronald, Carole, Pamela [Beane], and Jeffrey, and enjoyed 65 years of marriage. In 1983, they moved to Southern California, where they made many friends and shared countless adventures. In 2015, they relocated to Northern California to be near their family.
Lucy expressed her creativity through a variety of talents. She delighted in gardening, painting, sewing, and crafting works that showcased her artistic spirit and meticulous attention to detail.
A lover of nature, Lucy found peace and joy in the great outdoors-whether on long drives with Bob, breathing in the fresh coastal air at Doheny Beach, or marveling at God’s creation in every sunset, mountain, and ocean view.
A passionate cook, she delighted in trying new foods and creating delicious meals that brought her family and friends together around the table.
Lucy was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, a lifelong student and teacher of the Bible who immersed herself in Scripture to deepen her understanding of God’s Word. Passionate about sharing her faith, she taught Bible studies and encouraged others to grow closer to Christ through prayer and study. A fierce prayer warrior, Lucy’s relentless prayers and bold witness touched many lives. We rejoice that she is now joyfully reunited with her Savior, alongside those she faithfully prayed for and witnessed to.
Lucy’s legacy of faith, love, and kindness will continue on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her five children, seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren, as well as 3 siblings.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23.
