Lenon Padilla left this life on September 14, 2019. After being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, he sustained a traumatic brain injury secondary to a venous blood clot. Soon after, it became clear that God was calling Lenon home to His Kingdom.
Lenon was born on March 5, 1999 in Waukegan, Illinois. For eight years, he lived in Gurnee, Illinois. He later lived in Folsom, California, and graduated from Vista del Lago High School in 2017, where he played basketball, ran track, and performed in the guitar and contemporary music program. He was enrolled at Chico State University where he was a pre-nursing student. There, Lenon was a member of Phi Delta Theta and was involved in Young Life College. Throughout his life, Lenon frequented many Catholic and Christian churches around his community. This summer, he served at Young Life’s Woodleaf camp where he was able to secure his faith in God and share His word through song.
Lenon is survived by his parents Patrick and Charmaine; his brother Lance and his dog Lucky. He also leaves his maternal grandfather Edwin and his paternal grandfather Mauricio. He is also survived by his many family members and his many friends who love him. Lenon made a profound impact on the people around him and was able to touch the hearts of many.
Lenon’s memorial service will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Saturday, September 21. The visitation will be from 12:30-2pm and his funeral Mass will be from 2-3pm. Light refreshments will be served after at the Parish Hall. To honor Lenon, you can donate to his memorial fund on Gofundme, which will go to Vista Guitar Nation and Young Life College in Chico, two programs that profoundly shaped him and allowed him to spread his wings. Moreover, as Lenon rests above us in God’s embrace, we can honor his life by following his example of love, faith, expression, and service.
