She lived her life by taking care of family and friends. She sacrificed to provide the best home for her family - to her family was everything. She was the glue that kept us close. The love and togetherness she instilled in us will be enough to keep us together even though she’s no longer with us.
She found much joy and laughter in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She stayed as long as she could because she would miss all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She loved to cook and was the VERY BEST. Being the BEST cook ever is her legacy – all the great dishes she prepared for family and friends will be stories for generations. She always had an open door and a seat at her table with good food and good company. Feeding family and friends was her way of showing her love.
STRENGTH – Our Mother was the strongest person we will ever know. Our Father, who was in the U.S. Army, was given orders to relocate to Germany. At the time, our Mother was several months pregnant with baby #5, a toddler in her arms and 3 other children (ages 5-2 years old) hanging on to her coattails as she traveled from Ft. Lewis WA to New York, over the Atlantic Ocean to Bremerhaven, Germany all by herself. There are many stories that can be told about how strong she was, but it’s been the last 5 years that is the ultimate story. She endured many an “episode” and always bounced back – always.
She hung in there as long as she could because she said she would miss us if she left – she didn’t realize how much she will be missed by her family and all who knew her. She will forever be in our hearts.
We love and miss you, Ma.
