Our thoughts are with all of Joan's family and friends. She was a special person. I remember fondly the adventures we had together when we were young.

My son Nicholas had the pleasure of starting school with Joanie as his first teacher. He thought it was so great that he had the same last name as she did.  Joanie was a loving and nurturing teacher who gave my son an excellent first year of school. It was an honor knowing you.  RIP my friend. Condolances to all who loved her.
