As the eldest granddaughter I got the pleasure to meet him first out of all the grandchildren. 

I still remember when I was a baby and he'd comfort me by whistling a little tune, I'll never forget how he called me itzelita preciousa la mas Bonita princessa in the world ( in Spanish ) my grandpa was a great person. He would call me and we'd chat and have small talk, he would ask about my dog "vincen". I'll miss those gross chunky smoothies that I'd force my self to drink then hide the other 3/4 
I'll never forget his smile or his laugh or they way he was so protective. He'll always be in my heart, and just for him I am determined to learn spanish. He knew I would, I'm not letting him down.  Rest in peace grandpa, I wish I could be there for you - your eldest grandchild who loves you soooooooo much

I regret not being able to attend the services. I was always embraced by the Echeverria family and felt like one of them. My condolences go out to all of them. Hector will be missed as a father

Mi Papa era un hombre con el corazon grande y abierto para todos. Tenia una manera muy facil y ligera para hacer a la gente sentirse bien. El siempre estaba alli para nosotros, para qualquier cosa. Siempre que le hablaba y le decia que necesitaba ayuda con algo, el estaba alli. No seimpre lo hacia como you queria, pero el trataba y lo hacia como el podia. Nunca nos decis que no. El trataba de ayudar a los que se lo pedian como el podia.

Adoraba a sus hijos y a sus nietos y era mas feliz en compania de su familia y sus amigos. Nunca se nos olvidara su buen sentido del humor. Hasta en los momentos mas dificiles y obscuros el trataba de alivianar el momento con una broma. Le encantaba reirse y hacer a los que lo rodeaba reir. Haci quiero recordarlo, con una sonrisa en la cara.

My father was a kind hearted man. He had a kind and open heart for everyone. He had an easy way of making people feel welcome and at ease. He was always there for whoever needed his help. Every time I called him and told him I needed help with something he was there for me. He didn't always do things the way I envisioned or wanted but he would always try. He never said, "No I can't do that," and would go out of his way to help, no matter what is was.

He adored his children and grandchildren and was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends. We'll never forget his great sense of humor. Even in dark and difficult times, he tried to make light of it by cracking a joke. He loved to laugh and to make those around him laugh and smile. That's now I want to remember him, with a smile on his face.

Hermano, siempre te recordarè con mucho cariño, fuiste un gran hermano y tìo con mis hijas. Me ha dolido mucho tu partida pero sè que allà estàs mejor y esperàndonos algùn dìa.

I loved my uncle Chuy so much, he was a very important person in my life, while I lived in Sacramento, he was a father for me.

My Tio Chuy was awesome. Even though both of my grandfathers passed away before I was born I cannot say I did not have a grandfather because my Tio was the closest thing I had to a grandfather. Like a grandfather he gave me a nickname: Elizabethita, he pinched my cheeks and instead of scolding me for being a troublemaker, he shared his sense of humor. I’m going to miss him dearly. He loved his family truly, especially his children and even more his grandchildren. The holidays and any other get-togethers won't be the same without you, Tio.

Tia Lola and cousins: Maru, Lolita, Hector, Liliana and Willie, I would like to offer my sincere condolences. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

I loved my uncle very much.  Growing up he played with us, joked around and gave us special nick names.  These are all memories I will cherish.
