Florence C. Perrin

Born July 31, 1923 in Denver, CO. to Frank and Anita Moore. Passed away peacefully after her loving family spent the evening with her on Aug 14, 2012 in North Highlands, CA. Preceded in death by beloved husband of 50 years, Harry Perrin, her parents, 4 siblings, granddaughter Shayne, and Ed Hamman, husband of granddaughter Samantha.

Flo grew up in Steamboat Springs, graduating from high school 1941, and was known for never hesitating to defend her younger brother, Jackson (Moore), from bullies. When she and Jack were teenagers, and their youngest brother Donald (Moore) was mistaken for their child, she loved to tell how they dropped his hand ran home, telling their mother they would never again take him for a walk.

Flo met Harry at the Harbor Inn in Steamboat when her girlfriend pushed her off the bench and he asked her if she wanted a hand up. She said no, but you can join me as she pulled him down beside her. They were married 6 weeks later on Oct. 24, 1942. They had 2 daughters Carolynn( Jeffers) and Susan (Bowler). When her husband was called to active duty with USAF, the family followed him to Japan where they adopted John (Perrin) and later to Thailand where Ronald (Perrin) was adopted.

In 1941 Flo went to a dental assistant program in Kansas City and several times in her career worked chair side. She retired from Federal Civil Service at McClellan AFB after 20 years as a contract clerk.

She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, Aug. 24th at 11 AM at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA 95628. A celebration of her life will be held after the service at her home . Family suggest wearing shades of purple this day in honor of mom.
