Ed will be lovingly remembered by his spouse, Blayssa Nadir, her children: Khalid Alkadiry and his partner Janel Dasilva; Tara Alkadiry and her husband Joshua Covell and their son Khalil: his sister, Marilyn Becmer Gillespie and her stepchildren Mark and Laura Hall and their daughter Sophia. His extended family aunt Barbara and uncle Ken Garby, uncle Bob Kalio, many cousins: Stephen and Joann Becmer, Michelle Loflin, Bob Kalio, Bill Kalio, Chris Garby, Ken and Karen Garby, Katherine and Joe Kaplan, Michael and Tina Garby, very close friends, colleagues, and his dear friends from the Northridge Country Club will dearly miss him.
He was predeceased by his loving father and mother: Edmund and
Gertrude Becmer.
Ed was born in Rahway, New Jersey then living most of his younger years in Watchung, New Jersey. He attending
Watchung Hills Regional High School and then graduated from Saint Pius Catholic High School. He later moved to California where he obtained a B.S. in business Administration from San Diego State University, his CPA and worked as a CFO for most of his career. In 2018 the Sacramento Business Journal named him Sacramento CFO of the year.
He volunteered for great causes serving as a Big Brother for the San Francisco Bay area and raised money for various charities including the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and American Heart Association.
He enjoyed numerous hobbies and activities throughout his life, including his love for music, concerts, learning to play the guitar, traveling and becoming a wine enthusiast. He loved sailing, snow skiing, hockey, football, baseball, basketball and became an avid golfer at his Country Club.
A Memorial Service followed by a Celebration of Life will be held at Northridge Country Club, 7600 Madison Avenue, Fair Oaks, CA 95628 on August 29th, 2020 at 7:00PM. Donations may be made on behalf of Edmund James Becmer towards the American Heart Association:
