Donald Henry Evans, age 86, of Fair Oaks, California passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Donald was born August 21, 1935. He passed away at Eskaton care center in Fair Oaks, CA. He had a second stroke after five years.
He is survived by 5 of his children, Janice (Charlie) Hagen, Melody De Salles, Don Evans, Brad (Angella) Evans and Greg Evans. His sister Willora Louton and his son-in-law Vernon Shephard, ten Grandchildren and fifteen Great Grandchildren. And one Great Grand Daughter on the way. Also nephews and nieces.
High school activities included Industrial Arts and Football.
After graduation he went to work for his father, farming rice and corn. He also worked at a prune dehydrator, Libbys cannery and Morris Dray Co. driving forklift trucks.
Donald married his wife Eva April 18, 1954. They were married 67 years!
They had 7 children: Becky, Janice, Melody, Donald, Bradley, Gregory and William.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents William E. & Etha E.Evans, his brother’s David and Lloyd (Abe), his sister Diane, son William, daughter-in-law Mary, Daughter Rebecca (Becky), wife Eva and niece-in-law Nichole.
In 1957 Donald went to work for Douglas Aircraft Co. in Rancho Cordova, CA As a Crane and Heavy equipment operator. In 1967 he was promoted to leadman.
In February 1971 he went to work for Fair Oaks Water District operating the backhoe.
In May 1971 he was promoted to Foreman of Maintenance and Operations.
In 1988 he was promoted to Maintenance/Construction Supervisor.
In January of 1998 he retired.
In June of 2002 he went to work driving a ten-wheeler dump truck for his friend Al Danes.

Donald was a hard-working man. He loved to BBQ at family reunions and other family gatherings.
He loved fast cars and watching Nascar races on TV or in person. Nascar races were always recorded in his house.
He liked collecting things be it Nascar replica cars, beanie babies (his wife Eva got him into that) among other treasures.
After he retired he enjoyed scrapping different types of metals.
May Donald rest in peace with his wife Eva and his two children. As well as the rest of his loved ones that greeted him in heaven.
