Diane Sprague passed away peacefully at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with multiple illnesses. Born in Garden City, KS Diane lived in Vacaville intermittently for nearly 30 years beginning as a cook at Mr. Ed’s and the Heritage House Café where she loved to watch people enjoy her food before proudly working as a Supervising Cook I for the CSP-Solano until her retirement.
Once retired, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends: laughing, cooking, baking, eating, playing cards, bunko, bingo and swapping stories. Always drinking a Diet Pepsi, she would light up a room with a dancing smile, a loud laugh and stories of her travels and unbelievable life experiences. She treasured all who came into her life.
Diane was preceded in death by: Parents Erna Kreger and Victor Elliott; brothers Jim and Gary Elliott.
She is survived by her husband Edward; daughters Danielle Gist and Debra Black; sister Cora Blankenship; brothers Paul Kloster, Terry and Floyd Elliott; grandchildren Jeff Daniels, James and Claudia Black; nieces and nephews including Deborah and Jay Corsaut; former husbands Dean Santamoor and Terry Whaley; beloved in-laws, “adopted daughters” and numerous friends and family.
A heartfelt thanks to all of the loving and caring staff of Vacaville’s Kaiser Unit 2B and Hospice program, the staff at Orchard Post Acute Rehabilitation, friends and family who surrounded her with love and care in her final months, days and hours. We are overwhelmed with everyone’s love, support and compassion.
An informal Celebration of Life will be held on May 21, at 11 a.m. in the clubhouse of Skylark Mobile Estates, Vacaville.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Kaiser Foundation Hospital Hospice Department, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo, CA 94589.
Arrangements provided by Mount Vernon Memorial Park and Mortuary. Please visit her guestbook at dignitymemorial.com
