Clarence G. Roberts, passed from life on Friday, January 12, 2018 in Orangevale, California. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Eleanor Anne Roberts, his son and two daughters, Kenneth G. Roberts, Carol Anne Livingston, and Kathy Jean Roberts, his five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard A. Roberts, Jr, and W. A. Roberts. Clarence “Gordon” Roberts was raised in Bell, Florida, served in the Navy during WW II, and Korean War. He worked as an electrician for the Naval Shipyard in Potrero Hill in San Francisco, and Dixon Naval Radio Station. After retiring, he was a plank owner on the USS Hornet and was on the work crew that commissioned it. His model aircraft carriers, USS Oriskany, USS Kearsarge, USS Phillipine Sea, and the USS Hornet have been on display in various VFW’s, and Military museums throughout Northern California for all the Veterans to observe. He stayed active with the VFW in Fair Oaks as his model is on display there also. He was a faithful Christian throughout his life, and was a member of the Mariposa Church of Christ. This kind, gentle, humble and witty man leaves behind a legacy of love, respect and honor. We were blessed to have such a loving husband, devoted father and wonderful grandfather in our lives!! Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 26th, at Mount Vernon Cemetery, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, California, and after the service a reception will be held at the Mariposa Church of Christ, 7111 Mariposa Ave, Citrus Heights, California.
