Claire Eileen was born on April 12, 1928 to Earl and Eva Booker in San Jose, CA. Three years later her sister, Marilyn, was born. The sisters remained close, and both were blessed with long life (Claire, 96 years, and Marilyn, 92 years).
In 1948 Claire married Wayne Massingill, who had returned home after serving in the Navy during WWII. They lived in San Jose and started a family; Elise (1950), Rolane (1951), Gary (1955), and Lynette (1958). Following the birth of their fourth child, Wayne and Claire moved to a larger home in Saratoga, CA. The family grew to include in-laws, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all of whom loved her as Mom and Nana. They had just celebrated 60 years of marriage when Wayne died in 2008. Claire then moved to Carmichael, CA, where she lived in an apartment near Elise and her family for the last 16 years of her life.
From childhood Claire learned to play the violin. She used her musical talent at church and school, and taught violin lessons to students in her home for most of her adult life.
At an early age Claire came to faith in Christ. Her love for God and for others defined her life, character, and actions. Her warm and loving spirit made her a trusted and valued friend, and she had the heart of a servant. She consistently reflected a positive attitude of encouragement and always spoke well of people. She was very hospitable, opening her home to welcome friends and strangers. And she was faithfully involved at church, serving in orchestra, leadership for Sunday School and Women's Bible Study programs.
Claire was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Massingill, and her daughter, Lynette Radusinovich.
She is survived by the following family members;
Elise Rowland (husband Rich) and daughters Janelle Rowland and Julie Burke (husband Bill and sons Ryan and Adam) Rolane Boersma (husband Mick) and daughters Cara Hill (husband Bryan and sons Ethan and Austin) and Riva Lee (husband William and children Mikayla, Tyler, and Lynnea) Gary Massingill (wife Nancy) and daughters Lisa Ehli (husband Jeff), Kate Skone (husband Nathan and sons Elliott and Jeremy), and Cheryl Webster (husband Darryl and son Jack) Dannie Radusinovich, son-in-law (now married to Kathy, with children Joshua and Catelynn)
Claire was laid to rest with her husband, Wayne, at the VA National Cemetery in Dixon, CA
