I am so sorry to here of Ann's passing so long after the fact.  She was truly one of a kind and such an enthusiastic and talented artist.  When we talked we always had a laugh, she had a great sense of humor. I met Ann sometime after the year 2000 when I joined Gallery 10 in Sutter Creek, Calif. She had some of her artwork in the gallery and I was delighted to meet her and a friend when they came to deliver some work one day.  I became her contact at the gallery and I would let her know when we were having a special themed show she could have her work in, or if we needed some more of her beautiful silk scarves or cards to display.  I even talked her into having a scarf workshop for me and a few friends at her home studio.  It was wonderful to see the vibrant inks come alive on the wet silk.  She was so excited about the magic of it all and I had the most colorful dreams of my life that night. 
Our love and prayers are with her family, and we are grateful to have known her and to have been able to share her work with others.   Sincerely, Marie Mort and the other members of Gallery 10.

I was collecting Ann's artwork long before I met her. I eventually looked her up through her website and was able to get in touch with her. Since that time we became friends. I bought more of her paintings and she taught me how to do batiks. We would often meet at the High Hand Gallery, where she would do silk painting demonstrations most Sundays. She told me that it was her act of service to spend her time at the gallery.

Since moving out of state we had kept up an email correspondence. I am devastated to learn that she passed away the day after my last email to her. I hope that she went peacefully. I offer my sincerest condolences to Ann's family.

May your spirit be as free as your paintings. You were an amazing and awe inspiring woman. And you will be missed Ann.

Although I never met Ann, I am a huge admirer of her work.  I purchased cards and postcards of her dye / resist on silk paintings. Their beauty, her gifts, will always be with us. I am so grateful.

I met  Ann when I was the executive director of the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce and continued a friendship into my early years on the Citrus Heights City Council. I loved Ann's work and displayed many of her paintings in our Chamber of Commerce office. When the City embraced an 'Art in Public Places' program, I encouraged Ann to participate so a broader audience could enjoy her artwork. 
I loved visiting her in her home because it so wonderfully reflected her art form and eclectic style. We were so fortunate to have such a gifted artist in our community. We will miss you, Ann.

We met at a yard sale over a piece of batik art, learned we were neighbors and kindred spirits. That was 15 years ago or so...I'm going to miss our Saturday visits, your excitement over your new - and not-so-new - pieces of art, your interesting group of friends and parties at your home (a work of art in itself)! I'll miss our wine tasting day trips - you were so much fun to have along! You were always so encouraging of Ron's art, and you loved our pooch, Murphy, as much as we do. See you on the other side, my friend!

Roy & Mary McAlister have lived on Community Dr. in Citrus Heights since 1971. Through the years we have grown so close to Ann and her sweet companion dogs through the years. We enjoyed her paintings and cherish the postcard copies she has given us. 
     We send our love to her Sons and other loved ones. I can just see her now surrounded by lots of loved ones on the other side with all her pets. Ann was a joy to have in our neighborhood, and We will miss so much!
