Ruth Ann was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 11, 1937. Her formal education began with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS). She earned her college degree from Kennedy-King College, with training in Special Education.
On October 20, 1956 Ruth was united in marriage to William H. Cobb Sr. of Helena, Alabama. To this union, three children were born; sons, William H. Cobb Jr. and Christopher Cobb, and daughter Traci Evans (Charles).
On September 19, 1998, Ruth was united in marriage to Granville W. Hill in which they shared 22 wonderful years together.
Ruth’s mother, Elizabeth and brother, Alpha, preceded her in death in 1998.
Ruth accepted the Lord at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul C.M.E. Church (Chicago, IL). For several years, Ruth was an active member of the Crerar Presbyterian Church Choir until she joined Hickory Hills Presbyterian Church in 2000. She joined Burbank Presbyterian in 2013 until it closed in January 2020. Her final church home rests at Oak Lawn Community Presbyterian Church.
Ruth departed this life on September 23, 2020. She is survived by her beloved husband, Granville; sons, William Jr. and Christopher; daughter, Traci and husband Charles; five grandchildren, William III, Tamika, Mikiela, Chasity, Charles Jr.; great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who she loved dearly.
