You were a bright light in our lives and we miss you 🦋

The first time I met her she treated me as if I were family.  I met her while living in Germany, she had come to visit Gladys; we called my mom back in the states. They spoke and laughed so hard. It was cute. Afterwards she turned to me and gave me the biggest mom hug ever; she says that’s from your mom. 💛She was so warm and loving each time I saw her.  Truly an Amazing person; one of the purest kindest souls I’ve ever met.

My condolences to all of Olga’s family and prayers to you during these days of sadness. I didn’t know her but I know her daughter Gladys from the Army. Based on what I have been seeing with tributes to her she was an amazing woman and someone that made a huge positive impact on the world.. But she also raised an amazing daughter who carry’s on that same positive impact on the world  and that says a lot about the mother she was. Gladys I’m so sorry you are going through these tough days and I pray you find peace in all the good memories you shared with your mom over the years.  Sending many hugs and prayers to all of your family. 


My hermosa Tia Olga was and will always be one of the strongest and most amazing person God gave us in our family. Always with a warm smile to share with everyone. I enjoyed her visits and to see her interact with her younger sister, my Mom. Never a dull moment when they were together. Will always remember her happy and positive attitude. May God grant her eternal peace.

Im so sorry for your loss. Im praying for the family's continued strength through this sad time. . Mrs. Olga will definitely live on within her children and grandchildren.  RIH

I still haven’t found the words but your smile has always been a comfort. We will always be in place as a family for everyone. Will always share with JO how great his grandmother is and was on this earth. 

Ms. Quiroga ocupa un lugar muy especial en mi corazón, ya que desde el primer día que llegue a Funston ella me recibió con una sonrisa y me ofreció su apoyo en lo que necesitara. En ese momento yo estaba tan nerviosa por la transición en la que estaba pasando al ingresar a un nuevo ambiente, pero al mirar la sonrisa de Ms. Quiroga y escuchar sus palabras tan sinceras y llenas de ternura me dio tranquilidad y me hizo sentir que estaba en casa. Desde ese día siempre disfruté de las pequeñas conversaciones que teníamos durante el lunch y en la mañanas cuando llegaba a recoger a sus niños del salón. Su sonrisa está grabada en mi corazón.
Por siempre en mi corazón Ms. Quiroga!


Hablar de Olga es transportarme a mi epoca de Juventud, nos conocimos en una boda en la cual Yo no conocia a los novios ni sabia quienes eran, pero Dios quiso que esa oportunidad la conociera a ella y gracias a eso se covirtio en mi Cuñada, para mi tiempo de noviasgo ella fue nuestra chaperona, para todo tenia que ir con nosotros, siempre con la mejor actitud, se convirtio en nuestra complice de muchas cosas, después comenzo su noviasgo con Gil y le llego el tiempo de formar una muy bonita Familia, siempre supo lo que queria y lo logro a base de luchar, sacrificar y con la meta muy clara y lo logro, Dios sabe el dolor tan grande que tengo por su partida, me duele mucho mi Corazón por que ahi siempre habra un lugar para ella por el tiempo que yo este en este mundo, el consuelo que tengo es que Ella esta viendo el rostro de Dios, y esta en un lugar mejor, por que ya No esta sufriendo, y se que desde alla estara "abogando" por todos nosotros su Familia quienes la quisimos tal y como ella era, la recordaré como siempre fue, una mujer muy Alegre, una gran Hermana, una gran Esposa, una gran Abuela, una gran Tia, una gran Maestra, y para mi "Una gran Cuñada", descansa en Paz Olga.

My forever memories will be of her beautiful big smile and personality to match.  She was always kind and loving.  I can still hear her voice and picture her dancing to music.  Thank you for gracing us with your spirit.  We will continue to rejoice in our memories together.

Mrs. Olga was my daughter Chelsea 5th grade teacher at Funston elementary. We are very saddened  that she has passed. She was always a very good teacher to my daughter, so sweet and kind hearted. My condolences to her family & friends. I’m sorry for your loss.

I met Mrs. Quiroga when she came to work at Funston. I'm the payroll clerk .
We had wonderful talks about family and she was so excited with the born of her granddaughter. 
I can tell you she was a great teacher and a great human being, and bet a great MOM. When she went to Funston a few weeks ago, came to see me to show up her new style. "Look Maria, just like you  I left my gray hair"  made me laughed. I will miss her.  God Bless you all. So know she will always live in our HEARTS. So when you feel sad, touch your heart, the beating is telling you. "I'm here" She will always be with you.

I had the honor of working with Olga at Whittier. She was a vivacious and inspiring teacher. May she Rest In Peace. I am so sorry for your loss. You will all be in my prayers.

Ms. Quiroga, Yaretzi esta devastada por su partida. Ella llora dia y noche. Mira al cielo desde su ventana y con lagrimas en los ojos piensa en usted. Dice que usted la enseño a leer y a escribir. Recuerda cuando se pego en la cabeza  en la hora de lunch y usted fue corriendo a verla para cuidarla. Ms. Quiroga tenia un corazon de azucar, era super dulce y mas de una vez fue como una segunda madre para mi Yare. Su partida tan inesperada deja un gran vacio en nuestros corazones. Yare y yo estamos rezando por su eterno descanzo. Siempre vivira en nuestros corazones ❤️. Que en paz descanse 🙏

Such a beautiful light and I am heartbroken. I know she is watching over her loving family and I am so proud I got a chance a meet her. My husband and family send our condolences and prayers to the family. We will ensure her legacy lives in her children and grandchildren.

Ms. Quiroga was my 3rd grade teacher at Kanoon in 2008. She changed my life because she saw potential in me and pushed me to challenge myself at a young age. She motivated my mom to let me transfer to Orozco and that opened so many opportunities for me. Besides that, Ms. Quiroga was someone that trusted me and made me feel valued (I will never forget when she sent me to buy her a burrito from Burrito Feliz on Cermak after school). When my family was struggling during the recession, Ms. Quiroga gifted me with her daughter’s bike and even gave my family bags of baby clothes to send to my baby cousins in Mexico. Back then I saw Ms. Quiroga as the best teacher ever but as I grew up I understood Ms. Quiroga was not only the best teacher but the most selfless and caring person I have encountered. There hasn’t been a year since I left Kanoon that I don’t think about her because she truly played an important role in my life. I also thank her for giving us the opportunity to write our favorite memories and turn it into a book (which I still have and reread every now and then) that now holds so many interesting stories of struggle and happiness all from the perspective of 8 year olds. I will always hold Ms. Quiroga  in my heart and I hope to be half the person she was one day. 

I met Olga at Funston Elementary.   Her smile preceded her.  She so loved her students and always put them first before herself. She took such pride in her classroom and would often invite me in to see her student’s work or some display she had for the children.   She will most certainly be missed.   

Olga was a wonderful teacher and overall human. She was a wonderful mentor to me at Funston during my year there. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I wish her family peace during this trying time. 

She always had a smile when coming to the doctor's office.  She was a very lovely woman.  She will be miss.  

I was saddened to hear about her passing,  keeping you in my prayers. 

I'm the medical assistant that use to take her vitals when she came to family medicine. 

I worked with Olga for many years at Kanoon School and Funston School. At Funston, my happiest hour of the day was the hour I co-taught with Olga. Her classroom was a happy place. Her students loved her, and she loved them. She greeted the students (and me) every morning with such a big smile. When I left Funston, she made sure every student made me a card. I still have them. Her students treated her and each other with respect because she treated them that way.  I am so shocked and saddened by this news. Prayers to Olga’s family. Please know we all loved her so much.
