Bennie and I grew up together, hanging out together, doing stupid teen things together. He went in the Marines and I went in the Army. I visited him once when he was in Great Lakes and then we met one day years later at a small bar on the South Side of Marquette Park. I wish I had spent more time with him as we grew older. He was a good guy and you could always count on him, no mater how tough the situation.
