Anna Delores Reed

After graduating high school, Anna migrated to Chicago, Illinois and in 1957, she married Delvin Reed, also from Monticello, Arkansas. From that union two children were born, Reginald Dion Reed and Shelia Annette Reed.

Anna worked as an optician for several decades and retired in 1998. She was known for her candor, lively spirit and ability to connect with people of all ages. Anna was born into a family with a generational foundation of unshakable faith. As a result, faith became an important and sustaining element in her own life and she ultimately joined Third Baptist Church of Chicago.

Anna was preceded in death by husband Delvin, both parents, five siblings and long time friend Gaynell Cain.

It was on June 6, 2020 that our beloved Anna passed away peacefully.

Anna is survived by her children Reginald Dion Reed and Shelia Annette Reed, grandchildren Naomi, Renaja and Lee; brothers Elvin (Robizine) Owens Jr. and Donald (Grace) Stewart, many cousins, nephew, nieces and a host of beloved and special friends.
