Tom Jensen, our beloved father, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 3, 2024, a few days short of 72. He was a skilled carpenter and stained glass artist. He is leaving behind a legacy of beautifully crafted buildings in Seattle as well as many perfected home renovations he often gave his weekends to for friends and family.
A devoted member of his golf league since the 1980s, Tom’s quick wit and sense of humor made him a cherished partner on the course. Beneath his somewhat tough exterior, Tom also possessed a profound sensitivity and a deep love for his three daughters.
In his professional life, Tom was a carpentry manager in Seattle, where he was not only a manager but a great leader, supporting his team in both their professional and personal lives. His team knew they could always go to him for guidance or simply an ear to listen, and they often did. He knew how much it meant to them and was proud to be a steady constant for them.
Tom’s world was expansive, filled with many friends and a few cherished lifelong friendships. Whether sharing laughs on the golf course or crafting memories in his workshop, Tom’s presence enriched the lives of those around him. He even spent his last waking moments cracking jokes and making his family and hospital staff laugh.
Though we will deeply miss our dad, his laughter, love, and craftsmanship will endure as a lasting legacy.

Bubbles Up
(By Sarah Jensen)
Heart beats create ripples
My body moving through molasses
Seconds burn to minutes
As I exhale
Into this liquid night
A bubble symphony starts to rise
Gravity has lost its grip
I see her, home
As I slow dance the unpredictable
That’s it, the light
Where trees sway and birds fly high
Follow the rainbow rendition
Liquid yields to air
Burdens no longer
Serve my peace
The world above and below
In harmony
are bound
An eternally swaying pendulum
From the dark to the light
Ceases with each exhale
Showing me the way up
The way out
The way home
