Beloved Husband, Devoted father, Loving grandfather
On the evening of March 14, 2023, Bob passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, WA. He was 87 years old.
Bob was born in Seattle, WA on September 17, 1935. He was the son of Walter Francis Brown and Hazel Adamson Brown. Bob was a true Seattleite. He was, born, raised and lived his entire life here.
He attended the University of Washington where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and participated as a featherweight on the UW boxing team. He worked in the logging camps in Washington during the summers to earn money for his tuition and enjoyed the outdoor life. Upon graduating from the UW, he joined the Boeing Company where he spent his entire career. He retired in 1995 as an Electrical Engineering manager. He worked a few odd jobs to help with the transition, but soon took up photography and would travel around the state and national parks taking photos and enjoying the outdoors.
As an avid outdoorsman, Bob spent as much time as he could skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting and camping and passed that love onto his children. He was an enthusiastic boater and enjoyed going out on the lake on the weekends with friends and family. In addition to the outdoors and spending time with his family, Bob enjoyed nothing more than sitting and reading a really good book while enjoying a good whiskey, or hunting for a new book at one of the local used book stores and later in life, spending time with his two granddaughters, Makenzy Brown Mohrman and Madelynne Brown.
After university, Bob married Patricia Fegan Richardson and had two children Susan and Scott Brown.
He later married the love of his life, Margaret Brown and had two more children, Celeste and Mark Brown. Margaret and Bob recently celebrated their 50st wedding anniversary.
Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peggy); his four children, Susan, Scott, Celeste, and Mark and two grandchildren, Makenzy and Madelynne. He is laid to rest at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery in the Mountain View Estates, Morning Light Remembrance Wall.
