If you knew Rick, you know he never met a stranger and spent his life making it better for everyone around him. Always doing it so selflessly, with all the love, laughter and care in the world. He was genuine and kind and his love of family and friends was his legacy.
So many have reached out and asked about a funeral or service, which is understandable considering the incredible man that he was and all the lives that he touched. However, when he found out his cancer was terminal, he let all of the family know that he did not want any kind of funeral or service.
Rick may not have had control over the circumstances of his death or his illness, but his wishes as far as being remembered should be respected. As such, a public memorial service will not be held.
We invite you to please privately celebrate his memory in your own ways. We know that he will be with us all in spirit and thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
If you would like to make a donation in his honor, Rick’s favorite charity is the USO (United Services Organizations).
