Richard Alvin “Dick” Hereth passed away peacefully at his Marysville home on December 16, 2023.
Dick was born on March 8, 1934 in Snohomish, WA to Alvin and Rhea Hereth. The oldest of the three Hereth brothers, he graduated from Snohomish High School in 1952. After serving in the Navy, Dick and his brothers ran the family grocery business for nearly 40 years. He met the love of his life, Bonnie, on a blind date. They spent 60 beautiful years together until her death in 2019. Dick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, big brother, and friend, as well as a long-time businessman and community member. He is survived by his sons Craig (Vicki), Rob (Debbie), daughter Julie; grandchildren Katie, Jake, Brooke, Brett and their spouses; great-grandchildren Max and Emery; brother Alan, sister-in-law Janice, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Per Dick’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. Donations in Dick’s name can be made to Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County.
