Richard (Dick) Eugene Goff left this life peacefully on September 29, 2015 after a sudden medical condition.
He was born March 24, 1932 in Pembine, Wisconsin. Dick moved to Camano Island, WA at the age of 12. He graduated from Twin City High School and shortly after graduation enlisted in the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country from 1951 to 1955.
Dick was stationed at Love Field in Dallas, Texas and Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was employed at General Electric Aircraft Engines for 27 years as a mechanic.
Dick was an active member of the American Legion, Post 207, on Camano Island, and served as Commander for 5 years. He was also active in the Grange and the Lion's Club on Camano Island.
Dick was the first recipient of the prestigious SAR Flag Certificate of Commendation for his "exemplary patriotism in the display of the flag of The United States of America." He valued his community and his family and will be missed greatly.
Dick was a great lover of the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and sightseeing.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Loda Goff, his brother Don Goff and his daughter Thamra Mae Goff.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Goff, his sons Brian Goff and Robert Herring, his daughter Cindy Meade and his grandchildren Jessica Overbagh, Derek Johnson, April Peterson, Stacy McGhie, Rachael Goff and Michael Goff. He also was blessed with 11 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Services will be held on Monday October 5, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203 In honor of Dick's belief in active participation in the community and volunteerism, the family is encouraging donations to the charity of your choice.
