Ralph is a WWII veteran and served in the South Pacific as a Navy Seabee, he worked for Nord Door, Weyerhaeuser Everett Plant as mill worker retiring after 35 years as Crane Operator, then for several years with Rodland Toyota as vehicle trade transporter. A 66 year American Legion member of Everett Post 6 and a member of the Everett Fraternal Order of Eagles – FOE 13 for many years.
A lifelong bowling fanatic his passion for bowling began at six years old setting pins at the REC and progressed into participating in many leagues and including several fun filled Senior and family teams. Ralph enjoyed golfing, salmon fishing and was a long time Husky Football attendee and inaugural Seattle Seahawks ticket holder. He loved to dance, enjoyed time with his family and all the friendships he made being an Everett native. He enjoyed motor home trips across country with his wife and sister in law Dorothy to Florida, taking trips to visit family in Las Vegas and friends in Idaho and Reno and taking every opportunity to visit the ocean for fishing, razor clam digging and family fun. Ralph and Helen also visited Hawaii and England. Lawn grooming and his constant hunt for the latest man tool kept him active and enjoying all the pleasures in caring for his lawn. He had to learn and excel on the dance floor which became the lure for his beloved wife. To friend and family his humor of choice was trading quips with anyone who would dare to challenge his wit.
