A devoted person of deep faith, Marion passed peacefully a day after celebrating 91 years of age in Mill Creek, Washington.
Affectionately known as “Moglie” by her family and friends, Marion had been involved in Women’s Aglow International, a Seattle based Christian organization with over 200,000 members in over 170 countries. She traveled internationally with the organization and mentored locally in various prisons. She also worked at That Patchwork Place and later Heatherworks and was an accomplished quilter. She never sold her works, but made sure her projects were personalized and gifted with love.
In 2018 she joined the Cogir Senior retirement community in Mill Creek and served several years on the Resident Council Leadership Committee as Secretary. She was beloved by the residents and staff until the very end. When she was unable to get around, residents often visited and shared their friendship. She was always grateful for that.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents Orville Ray Clinard and Dorothy Long Clinard; Sister Phyllis Ruth Clinard; Husbands Harold Robert Shelton and Richard Hugh Harlan, as well as Son Eric John Shelton, Stepdaughter Sandra Lee Shelton Polk, and great-grandson Josiah Kayd Shelton.
She is survived by sons Robert Wood Shelton II (Louisa), Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, and Randall Long Shelton (Penny) Union, WA.
Marion is also survived by stepchildren; Stacey Harlan Warren (Dean), Mountlake Terrace, WA and Rick Harlan, Seattle, WA.
Also surviving is her beloved niece Alicia Lambirth Payne (Tim), Colorado Springs, Co. and numerous nieces and nephews. Marion leaves grandchildren Jeffrey Kanoa Shelton (Elena), Los Angeles, CA., Kelvie Malia Shelton, Las Vegas, NV; Christopher Randall Shelton (Brittany), Gig Harbor, WA; Scott Robert Shelton, Cle Elum WA and Stephen Daniel Shelton, Laila Texas.
Marion is also blessed with great-grandchildren Damien, Alana, and Andrea Samuda; Adrianna and Savanna Shelton; Kingston, Everly Shelton and Sophia Lee, and step granddaughter Rachael Warren.
Always remembered and grateful for, is her “adopted” John and Sabine Whitten family; Dan and Heather Davis, Andrew, Benjamin, and Bethany; Dwayne and Jennifer Baughman, Rachel and Jacob.
The family wishes to thank Carol Porter, Marta Estes and her extended “Laid Back Ladies of the Block” friends who were always there for her. We are also extremely grateful for the wonderful, caring staff of Cogir Senior Retirement Living Community, Mill Creek and Continuum Hospice who have attended to her needs since becoming bed-ridden in August 2023.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, April 5 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA. 98203. Light fare and refreshments to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Continuum Hospice of Snohomish County in Marion’s honor. https://continuumwa.com
