Margaret “Peggy” Anderson was born August 25, 1930 in Tacoma, WA. She attended Assumption grade school and graduated from Bellingham High in 1948. Peggy worked for Johnson Electric Company until she met Jack Anderson whom she married in 1948. They lived in Mt. Vernon and Olympia before building a home in Everett and starting a family. Julie was born in November 1953, followed by Nancy in July 1955 and Laura in June of 1962. She treasured children and was a preschool teacher for many years. Her greatest love was family which she demonstrated as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Peggy’s favorite hobbies included bird watching, gardening, and travel. Her yard was a year-round bird sanctuary filled with beautiful gardens she lovingly tended. Jack and Peggy traveled throughout the U.S., then began spending winters in Mesa Arizona. Summers were spent on the west side of San Juan Island where they bought a waterfront cabin in 1968. She hosted the annual family 4th of July celebration there yearly creating irreplaceable memories.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father and mother, Odin and Clara Olson and her sister, Carol Neilan. She is survived by her sister, Rosemary Kirkilas, husband, Jack Anderson, daughters Julie (Darryl) Robertson, Nancy (Howard) Johnson, and Laura (Paul) Carlson. She is also survived by grandchildren Cameron Robertson, Colby (Rachel) Robertson, Alicia Carlson, Whitney (Michael) Ebert, and Andrew Carlson. Great grandchildren include Bentley and Grayso n Robertson, and Halle and Leila Ebert.
