Lois L. Lewis peacefully passed away at the age of 91 on July 25, 2023. She was born on February 17, 1932 in Worthington, Minnesota to Nim and Caroline Bruton. Her family moved often during her childhood and settled in Everett when she was in junior high.
She attended Everett High School where she met her husband, David Lewis. They married in 1951 and enjoyed 58 years together until his passing in 2009. They enjoyed traveling, bike riding, gardening, volunteering at the Marysville Food Bank, and spending Time with their seven grandchildren. They were devoted grandparents who rarely missed any of their grandchildren’s sporting or school events.
Lois’ great love was her beautiful yard. Her flowers were always the pride of the neighborhood. She passed along her love of gardening to all her children. Lois was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and enjoyed being part of the Altar Society. After her kids were raised, Lois went to work for Dr. David Lamey, orthodontist, where she assisted him in putting countless Everett teenagers through braces. She loved her job and eventually retired to spend more time with her grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her four children – Mike (Wendy) Lewis, Diane (Dave) Lund, Susan Lewis, and Mary (Tom) Rochon. Her seven grandchildren – Shannen (Tristan) Brenner, Marissa (Cameron) Lewis, Jon Lund, Aaron and Paul Businger, and Joe and Luke Eichinger; as well as five great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings – Richard, Ron, John, and Jenny Sue. Additonally, she leaves behind her dearest lifelong friend and travel partner, Darlene Coshow.
Preceding Lois in death were her brother Tom Bruton, baby brother Alvin Bruton, and son-in-law Joe Eichinger.
Several years after David’s death Lois moved to Washington Oakes. This was a difficult transition for her until she met Dennis Britt. They married in 2015 and had six wonderful years together filled with laughter and companionship. Dennis was a very kind and loving husband and someone who could match her quick wit. They loved spending time with both of their families.
A Funeral Mass will be held on August 23rd at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Hope Chapel (formally Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church) - 2619 Cedar St, Everett. Reception to follow at Our Lady of Hope Church (formerly Immaculate Conception) Mattie Hall, 2517 Hoyt Avenue, Everett.
