Kyle was born November 25, 1945 and raised in Everett. Following graduation from Cascade High School in 1965 he joined the navy and spent two years of duty as a power jeep driver on the flight deck of the USS Bon Homme Richard aircraft carrier. After returning home he went to work in the vending/juke box business and had 35+ years with the Teamsters union prior to his retirement in 2010.
Married to his wife, Joan, for 36 years, they enjoyed traveling and camping. In addition to being members at Lake Connor Park, they also liked taking their motorhome on the road, many times out of state, to take in the scenery and adventure of someplace new. Air travel and going on cruises also created such awesome memories. Kyle also loved and took great pride in showing off his beautiful ’57 Chev, for which he won a number of trophies. Music and record collecting was another hobby he so enjoyed, collecting over 10,000 records. Over the years, he’s enjoyed a number of interests: bowling, darts, pool, fishing.
Kyle was proud to be an active member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 170, serving on the Board of Governors, as Membership Chairman and participated in the “fallen heroes” parade events. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion and Eagles Clubs.
Kyle is survived by wife, Joan; daughter, Kerrie; son Rick (Amanda); grandson Tanner; mother Carlyn; Father-in-law, Gordon Shafer; Sister-in-law, Janell Baker and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kyle is preceded in death by son, Ron; father, Raymond, and grandparents.
Forever cherished in our hearts, he was an amazing man loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed more than words could ever say!
