Kathleen Herrin passed away peacefully at age 82, on November 23. Kathleen leaves behind a legacy of 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 6 (soon to be 8) great-grandchildren, all who will dearly miss her. She was born in 1938 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Soon after that her family moved to Mukilteo, WA. They built a home overlooking the beautiful sound and ferry boats where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Everett High School in 1956, worked as a bank teller, then a medical assistant and later obtained a degree in Nursing in 1974. She practiced nursing at the Everett Clinic for many years, finishing out her career at 65. She enjoyed her work caring for oncology patients and was loved by many for her sweet and kindhearted nature.
In her early years she enjoyed playing piano, reading, knitting, crocheting, sewing and making beautiful dresses and costumes for her three girls as they were growing up. She was a talented cook, always eager for a new recipe and famous for her pies which will be surely missed. She also enjoyed gardening, spending time with family, loved to travel, spend time with friends and enjoyed many summers with her husband relaxing at their beach home on Whidbey Island. You could find her walking the beach with her dog and collecting treasures of sea glass along the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Chris of Mukilteo, and by her brother Randy. Kathleen is survived by her husband Robert Herrin, her 3 children Darcy (Jan), Leslie, and Paula (Pete); step children Joe (Belinda), and Susan (Tim); her grandchildren Annelise, Jan, Katarina, Maggie, Maria, Lauren, Emily, Grace, Carli, and Nicole; 4 step grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, cousins, friends and family too numerous to list but never forgotten whose lives she touched.
