February 14, 1940 - May 18, 2016 Longtime Mukilteo, Wash. resident, Jeanne Marie Reichmann Lavell, 76, died on May 18, 2016 of complications from Multiple Sclerosis. Jeanne was the third child of Linden Reichmann, longtime manager of the Everett, Wash. Weyerhauser Mills, and Johanna Arends, a Dutch immigrant whose father, Henry Arends, was the Mayor of Everett. Jeanne graduated Everett High School in 1958, and Seattle University in 1962 with a degree in Medical Records. She worked for Group Health Cooperative in their Seattle based medical records office, before marrying Jerry Lavell in April, 1964. While raising their three girls, Jeanne continued her connection to the medical world through volunteer work for the Providence Hospital Foundation, and also as Providence Hospital Board Member. She also served on the Everett YMCA board. She and Jerry, with help from their three girls, hosted celebrations of all types in their Mukilteo home. For decades, the Lavell House has been a gathering place for many, especially Jeanne's extended family and the St. John's Catholic Church community. Jeanne loved to laugh and loved people who made her laugh. She surrounded herself with those who had a good sense of humor. She had a strong sense of self, and a strong faith in God, both of which were invaluable as her health failed. As her social world became smaller because of lack of mobility, she defined and continued her life's passions with the assistance of loyal friends and family. These passions were (in no particular order): season tickets to local musical theater; The Heritage Book Club, which meets the third Monday of the month; good food and good cooks; and the views of Whidbey Island from her home's west-facing windows. Jeanne leaves behind her older brothers: Fr. James B. Reichmann, SJ; John and his wife Gloria; Joe and his ex-wife Susan; as well as her beloved younger sister, Betsy, and her husband, Jim. She is also survied by several "kindred spirited" cousins: Mary, Mike, Barb and Patty; and last but not least, her Aunt Joan. Jeanne also leaves behind her three faithful daughters and their husbands: Susan and Wally, Theresa and Jan, Anna and Loren; in addition to six grandchildren who constantly brought love, and welcome mayham, into her life: Elle, Lily, Tommy, Marcella, Danny and Keira. Jerry, who preceded Jeanne in death by 27 years, most likely organized a great celebration to welcome his wife into heaven. We know he hired a band and booked a space with a dance floor so the couple could dance to their favorite song: "My Funny Valentine." Jeanne was born on February 14, 1940. Services will be held at St. John's Catholic Church in Mukilteo. Rosary: Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.; Funeral Mass: Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. For a lasting gift in Jeanne's honor, please make a donation to The Providence Fund, Providence General Foundation or the Everett YMCA.
