Frederick Albin Peterson, of Everett, Washington, passed away October 14, 2016, at age 93. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Evelyn Peterson; sister, Kate and brothers, Jack, Win, and Larry. He is survived by his brother, Bobby; three adult children, Steve (Denise), Pete (Vicki), and Teri (Nick Alvanos), and three grandchildren, Amanda, Nikolas and Peter. While born in Seattle, Wash., in 1923, he spent his life in Everett. Many in the area knew him as the owner and principal butcher at Peterson's Market on 36th and Colby. He was a World War II veteran, serving six years, mostly on the USS Saratoga (CV3). He sold his store when Safeway opened their first in Everett in 1965. Bar S then enlisted him as an account executive and he continued to interact with his peers calling on meat markets across the state. He eventually went to work as the purchasing agent for American Tug Boat in Everett whom he had serviced and worked with at the market. Later he spent time with the company that acquired American, Crowley Maritime, working on projects in Puerto Rico, Jacksonville, Fla., Prudhoe Bay and Valdez, Alaska. He and Joy loved Hawaii and spent as much time there as possible. He enjoyed fishing, fixing, cooking, and a great game of pinochle. A seventy one-year member of the Elks and active Shriner he was always quick with a one liner, and loved to make people smile. He will be missed by the many who knew him. A memorial and celebration of life will be held at his beloved Everett Elks BPOE #479 on November 5, 2016, at 3:00 p.m.
