Florence Ibea

Florence Ibea, age 87, of Marysville, Washington passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Florence was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Florence (Fotini) Ibea passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 87 on Oct. 7, 2023. Florence was a wonderful woman who had a passionate love for her family.

The early part of her life was filled with music; she began with the violin which she excelled in

throughout high school and college. In high school, Florence was invited twice to participate in the annual Northwest Concert Program which led to a full music scholarship to Western Washington University. Florence was also an active cheerleader, performing in a trio that did advertisements for local businesses, and was a member of her high school choir.

In college, she met Dave Ibea (the love of her life) at a dance, beginning their 67-year relationship. Florence continued with the violin, playing in the Bellingham and Everett symphonies, in addition giving private lessons. In high school, Florence developed an interest in fashion after she was asked to model at a clothing store where she worked. This interest led her to attract several tearoom modeling jobs that kept her very busy! Florence then added to her busy schedule by opening a personal development and modeling school. Afterward, she had the opportunity to create and direct many runway shows in Everett and Seattle. Florence retired after a busy and successful 28 years.

The 13 years that followed were full of adventures of a different kind. Florence and Dave were asked to join a performing group called “The Stardust Follies” in 1998. The Follies performed at Disney World, on 5 different cruise ships, at the Washington and Oregon state fairs, and for 13 years at the Victorian Country Christmas venue in addition to several other venues in the Seattle and Tacoma areas.

Florence was preceded in death by her father (James Lampropulos), mother (Dionysia Chamis), and brother (Nicolas Lampropulos). She is survived by her husband Dave, daughter Diane (Doug), son Jim (Tieca); her grandchildren: Joshua (Tingert), Andrew (Bri), David, Amanda, Tianna (Zach); and her great grandchildren: Noah, Temesgen, and Rebecca.

A memorial service for Florence will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203, followed by a reception at the funeral home.
